Welcome back to another installment of our Outer Banks beach report.
I hope you had a fantastic Thanksgiving and got plenty of turkey to eat. The picture above was taken just south of Jennette’s Pier in Nags Head, North Carolina.
Beach Report
Despite the inclement weather throughout the United States over the past few days, the Outer Banks is looking good for the next 24 hours. High temperatures in the mid-50s later today – slight chance of rain (10%) this afternoon.
Wind gusts from the NE at 10 mph this morning, but that’s nothing out of the ordinary for Nags Head.
Surfing Report
Not a whole lot of wave action this morning – small knee high waves breaking at Jennette’s Pier. It’s December, so water temperatures are a brisk 49 degrees today.
Hopefully we’ll see some improvement in surfing conditions over the next 24 hours, but I wouldn’t bother bearing the cold water temps and NE wind for these small waves today.
Fishing Report
I wasn’t able to spot any anglers on Jennette’s Pier this morning, however I did spot a few surf fisherman to the south. There isn’t any report from offshore boats yesterday; I don’t think they’ll be venturing out today due to the wind.
Be sure to take advantage of our Cyber Monday promotion today – you can save $100 off any week-long stay in one of our Outer Banks vacation rental homes.
Thanks for reading and we hope to see you soon… have fun!
